A versatile artist, Benjamin Laurent is a pianist, vocalist, conductor, arranger, composer and actor.Winner of several prizes from the Paris and Lyon Conservatoires in accompaniment, conducting and writing, he joined the Académie de l'Opéra de Paris before pursuing his career in France (Opéras de Paris, Lille, Rouen, Dijon, Avignon, Festival d'Aix en Provence) and abroad (Monte-Carlo, Moscow's Bolchoi, Teatro Colon de Buenos Aires, Wexford Festival, Beijing Opera).He works with conductors Eivind Gullberg-Jensen, Guillaume Tourniaire, Geoffroy Jourdain, Jérémie Rohrer, Philippe Jordan, Nathalie Stuzmann, René Jacobs and stage directors Roméo Castellucci, Dominique Pitoiset, Jean-François Sivadier and Jacques Osinski.Since 2018, he has been regularly invited by the Académie de l'Opéra de Paris to provide musical direction or arrangements for shows and recitals (Kurt Weill Story by Mirabelle Ordinaire, Merveilles by Pierre Rigal, Concerts, Workshops).The 2021/2022 season sees the creation at the Paris Opera of “recited recitals”, in which he performs as pianist, actor and lecturer on great literary works and their musical correspondence, alongside baritone Volodymyr.
