<p>Bobbi Jene Smith was born in Ames, Iowa. She studied at the Juilliard School, the North Carolina School of the Arts, and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. From 2005 to 2014, she was a member of the Batsheva Dance Company under the artistic direction of Ohad Naharin. In collaboration with Or Schraiber, she has choreographed original works for the Ballet de l'Opéra national de Paris, the Martha Graham Dance Company, the Royal Danish Ballet, Theater Basel, the L.A. Dance Project, and the Batsheva Dance Ensemble, among others. With Or Schraiber, Bobbi Jene Smith is artist-in-residence at the L.A. Dance Project and made her Off-Broadway debut in 2023 choreographing Danny and the Deep Blue Sea at New York's Lucille Lortel Theater.
