Documentaries

Before the curtain rises, performances come to life in rehearsal rooms, workshops and backstage. The Paris Opera documentaries introduce us to the people who work every day to bring them to the stage, both in front of the audience and behind the scenes.

Artists, dancers, singers, musicians, directors, craftspeople, technicians, stage management and front-of-house teams: these films reveal the diversity of professions that bring the Opera to life. Through these documentaries available to stream on Paris Opera Play – POP, discover behind the scenes at the Palais Garnier and the Opéra Bastille, from rehearsals and craftsmanship to the many stages of preparation and the emotion that comes before a performance.

These films also offer younger audiences an opportunity to discover the wide range of careers in the performing arts and may, perhaps, inspire new vocations!

Discover POP’s exclusive documentary series, including Dancing in Tokyo: the secrets of a tour, Junior Ballet: dancing, dreaming, together, Inside the Opera and The Paris Opera in French Guiana.
