Jewels in Ballet with Les Néréides

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Palais Garnier, our partner Les Néréides is presenting a brand new jewellery collection based around the ballet Giselle and Charles Garnier's iconic architecture. From the pas de deux to the lily flowers and the iconic ballet slippers, this collection is the perfect opportunity for a selection of ballets in which jewellery takes pride of place.

To start off this selection in style, head to the Grande soirée de Ballets where you can admire the tiaras worn by the Étoiles dancers during the Défilé. And if you like the theme, don't miss Giselle, where Myrtha's tiara is sure to identify her as the Queen of the Willis, those ghostly creatures that haunt unfaithful men...

In the world of ballet, jewellery is sometimes made of feathers, like the tiara in Swan Lake or the 1930s headband in Rudolf Nureyev's Cinderella.

Far from being mere ornaments, jewels can also plunge characters into turmoil, like Princess Gamzatti in La Bayadère, who tries to lure the pure Nikiya de Solor away from the man they love by promising her riches in the form of a necklace, or Manon, who, blinded by her love of luxury, takes the tender Chevalier Des Grieux down with her.
