The Paris Opera in French Guiana is a territorial cultural cooperation program launched in November 2022, aiming to make the Paris Opera's missions accessible to all Guyanese people.This documentary series retraces the creation of this program, from the inaugural show in Cayenne to the dance workshops led by the Paris Opera artists in partnership with various collaborators in Cayenne, Kourou, and Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni.
Episode 1 – The Arrival
In November 2022, the Paris Opera in French Guiana was inaugurated with a dance performance featuring Étoile and corps de ballet dancers at the Trois Fleuves hall in Cayenne.Episode 2 – The Encounter
Following the performance, the first classical dance workshops begin with Étoile dancers Stéphane Bullion and Muriel Zusperreguy, along with contemporary dance workshops with dancers Takeru Coste and Marion Gautier de Charnacé.Episode 3 – Everyone's a Dancer
From Cayenne to Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, passing through Kourou, the Ballet company's dancers meet students with diverse stories and backgrounds who share a common passion: dance!Episode 4 – En voix
For the first time, Paris Opera Etoiles, dancers and opera singers will be gathering on the Three Rivers stage in Cayenne. "The Paris Opera in French Guiana" continues with opera vocal workshops at the Conservatoire de Musique, Danse et Théâtre in French Guiana for those who wish to discover their voice.
Episode 5 – Opérapprentis
The OpérApprentis artistic and cultural education program, currently being implemented in Cayenne and Saint-Laurent du Maroni as part of the Paris Opera in French Guiana, focuses on artistic practice, meetings with professionals from the Paris Opera, and the discovery of lyrical and choreographic performances.
